Tekken 6 customer reviews:
Tekken 6 was worth the buy
The game was in great condition! The players were well designed and gives a new look to the tekken series. Although the characters did not seem to move as well as the ones from tekken 5 on the PS2, it was still a really fun game to play. Worth the purchase. Rating: (Cindel R. Tons of fun, but not much is new here...
I've been a big Tekken fance since Tekken 2 on the PSX. A great franchise that requires alot of technical skill to master. When I heard that Tekken 6 was coming to the XBox 360 I was super stoked. Upon the game's release I heard rumors that it was full of errors, especially with the online portion of the game, so I held off until they patched it. Finally Namco got a patch out and I made my purchase. The fighting game action of the previous Tekken games is there and I still love it. Choose your character and go 1 on 1 with your opponents. The new bound system is a bit ridiculous, it allows an enemy to start a combo on you, slam you to the ground, and continue the combo (against a skilled opponent you can lose 60-70% of your health in one combo before you can retalliate). Thankfully it takes some skill to get good at bounds and it's still alot of fun. While nothing much has changed since Tekken 3 there are enough new moves and characters to keep things fresh. There is so much extra junk that I have no interest in that it's a bit upsetting. I don't understand why Namco decided to make the "Tekken Force" the focus of the game and the arcade section (what the series is all about) the bonus. They can leave Tekken Force completely out of the game for all I care, you don't buy Tekken for Tekken Force. You buy it for 1 on 1 fighting. Tekken Force (now known as Scenario Mode) itself is a bit boring and repetitive, but 75% of the game's achievements are found there so if you're an achievement lover you've got to suffer through it. You run through levels, kill bad guys, collect items which you can customize your character with, rinse, repeat. It plays reasonably well, it's just not very fun. Now for what most people will buy the game for, online. I didn't start playing online until after the game was patched so I missed out on the majority of latency issues. Overall the experience is pretty great. You choose a character and it finds an opponent. Before accepting the fight with said opponent it tells you their connection speed so you can avoid laggy connections. Anything 3 or higher (out of 5) seems to run quite smooth. The best part of multiplayer is making a public lobby with 4 people and playing an arcade-style round robin. The winner stays, the loser goes to the back of the line. It's alot of fun to make a room with friends and simulate the arcade experience. Technically the game looks good but not stellar. Textures aren't the sharpest but they're not bad. Animations are pretty good. The sound is top notch though, excellent through our 5.1 system. Overall I enjoy Tekken 6 despite a few bugs and a few decisions on the part of Namco with the direction of the game. If you are a fan of the series or just of fighting games you'll enjoy the fighting experience althoguh you may want to skip out on the "Scenario Mode" entirely. Rating: (C. Exactly what he wanted.
The game is awesome and it arrived fast despite the crazy holiday season. I bought it as an early Christmas present for my boyfriend. We opened it and played it immediately. It was hella fun and reminded me of the old Mortal Kombat and Tekken games that I used to play. Video games nowadays have left me in the dust. Now I can play more than just Rock Band with him. Oh and the pricing was second to none. I researched every website I could find and Amazon provided the best price for this new game. Rating: (ShoeFettish67, 2010-01-19) Product reviewed: Tekken 6
The Truth about Tekken 6
I have been following Namco for a extremely long time, dating back to my days with my PlayStation 1, so I do have creditability. This Tekken 6 video game is by far the best Tekken game one to date. A friend got this game, also with NBA 2K10 for Christmas, and I haven't been able to put this game down sense cracking the seal. I'm a older fan of the franchise so I typically lean more towards the older characters sense their moves never really changed lol. I enjoy using my favorite figher in Kazuya Mishima. He is very strong and easy to use. I enjoy using his son and face of the franchise Jin Kazama as well even though his moves have slowly changed sense Tekken 3. Newer characters like Lars Alexandersson, whom happens to be Heihachi's long lost son are great also. I have recently traded my copy of this game in for cash at my local Gamestop...... to buy the Tekken 6 Limited Edition Wireless Fight Stick Bundle off AMAZON. Gamestop is selling the limited edition version for 150 dollars!!! but right now you can catch it on sale up here for 65 dollars!! I"m ready to receive my TEKKEN JOYSTICK, TEKKEN 6 video game, and Limited Edition Artbook. You better grab it while you still can..I also picked up the guide which I fell was a great move... If you're a fan of fighting games you'll love this title. I know I do!!! Rating: (Brandon L. Simmons, 2010-01-17) Product reviewed: Tekken 6
Can't stop playing it. A high quality game.
I had the first Tekken for PS2. I wore the stupid thing out. It was pretty cheesy back then. It's way better now and their is nothing cheesy about it. I play it all the time and have just stratched the surface on learning the online experience or the single player experience. If your not into all that role playing stuff, and just want to beat up people, this is for you. Rating: (Rick L. Wendel, 2009-12-27) Product reviewed: Tekken 6
