Star Wars Battlefront: Elite Squadron customer reviews:
NEW BATTLEFRONT? COOL!
When I got this I was excited. I couldn't wait to play it. It has a great campaign mode. The runing looks real. You also get to use force pikes, escape pods, and even man a cannon. This battlefront even has some knew character like x1 and x2. I highly recommend this battlefront over any other battlefront. Great PSP Star Wars game!
I played the demo and I have to say I am hooked. I love the fact that it is almost a handheld Star Wars BF 2 and if you liked that game as much as me then this will have hooked you also. Rating: (Devonne K. Akinyele, 2009-12-13) Product reviewed: Star Wars Battlefront: Elite Squadron
Awesome game. Not Awesome Gameplay.
This game was the main reason I finally got a PSP. The PSP itself is a great little device. Amazing graphics and functions for a handheld. Star Wars Elite Squadron looks very good, but still not as good as other PSP games in graphics department. The customization and weapon and equipment choices are good but be prepared to unlock weapons, etc. That can be a great surprise while playing, but annoying when you are limited at first. Gameplay is very difficult for anyone used to 2 analog sticks and shooters. A distant above 3rd person approach, like God of War, may have been better for this instead of an over the shoulder third person view, which I always preferred in SW BF2. I get vertigo and struggle to not die too often. I am new to it and hope to get better at the control, but it is disappointing. I like the game and the customization and the control scheme is fine after awhile, but still I am left with less than what I had hoped. I don't regret buying it nor the PSP, but I am going to play it a lot less than I had Battlefront 2 on the PC these past years. For your final decision check out videos on You Tube and download the demo first. If you can get past the difficult gameplay the features of this game are great. I don't really like UMDs so I got the version from the PSN and don't regret it one bit. It saves battery life and less noise. Otherwise, most of my purchases come Amazon, but UMDs will be only for those unavailable in digital format. Rating: (B. Cotter, 2009-12-06) Product reviewed: Star Wars Battlefront: Elite Squadron
Excellent with few flaws
Pros: The storyline is the best part of the game, Graphics come next. Deep, Deep customization is a huge plus and the unlock system for weapon and armor customization makes the game a definite incentive to keep playing the campaign. Difficulty is challenging without being frustrating. The transition from clone to rebel to Jedi was a plus because it gave the player a good experience with different modes of play. Cons: I disliked the control scheme when i first started playing, it needs a heck of a lot of work, but its an option between Battlefront II and Renegade Squadron controls. Another issue was allied AI, the biggest issue is that they tend to run into a storm of fire, get cut to pieces, and waste reinforcements. The lightsaber is the smallest but most critical flaw in HNV battles. the sword has a short swing and almost no range so you must touch the target to slash it. Comments: i can understand if you picked this up beat the campaign and put it back down and thought, "this game sucks, there's no customization" I've done that before. but with this game you actually have to work to get the options on armor and weapons. playing to unlock is better then it already being there because it tells players "you want stuff? work for it."
