Fun Game Overall the game is pretty good. It's come a long ways since launch and SOE has made some great improvements. This particular version is nice as it comes with 60 days for free, so if you're debating joining the EQII world, this would be a good version to buy! Careful Before buying this product...Which is all that its touted, I'm almost sure. Make sure you don't have a SOE Account. If you do, don't expect to get the 2 months of free play. Although both the box and description on here mention nothing of the sort. If you currently have an SOE Account, even if it's not active, you aren't eligible for the free months of play. Never stops evolving. The differences between EverQuest II in 2009 and EverQuest II in 2004 are astronomical. As the game moves towards its five year anniversary, it continues to change for the better. One of the biggest changes will happen within the next few months: The upgrade to Shader Model 3.0. The game was created in SM1.0, because it was started in 1999, around the release of Rise of Kunark. Some Key Features to EverQuest II: *Hands-on Crafting system. Counter mistakes before your item is too damaged to be created. *Decorate the interior of your own house. With the introduction of the ability to save layouts, third party tools are being made to create an even more unique home. Z-axis rotation anyone? *A racial revamp recently took place in order to add racial balance. *An old time favorite will be introduced in February: Halas *Alternate Advancement allows for a more customizable character. *Achievements allow you to earn recognition for accomplishments. *Over 400 zones *Streaming client is in the works to reduce download time. The current development team is highly committed to releasing new content and fixing bugs. EverQuest II will only get better. If you tried the game in the past or if you are considering playing, I highly recommend you pick it up. It is well worth the money. With 60 days free in this package, what is there to lose? A fantastic game that's overlooked Where to start? So much depth, so many places to go, so many things to spend your time on. Had been searching for a new game to play with a number of friends who had grown tired of 4-5 years with the biggest game out there (we tried just about every big title that came out the last couple years). All any of us could say, "why did we wait so long to try this game out?" It has evolved since launch and so much for the better. Alternative Advancement's(AA's) represent the talent trees for EQ2. They are earned as you level, you can even adjust the amount of adventure/combat experience that goes towards earning these points. Want to fight from your mount, being able to use all of your skills? It's here in EQ2. Crafting is abundant and more interactive than most games, while not being tedious and overly complicated. Do like to have alot of abilities to use as you fight your way through a vast world? Then you will find your task bars full of interesting abilities to use. Do you like to earn achievments? EQ2 has incorporated one and wrapped the old slayer titles into it. The game still looks great and yes you will have to adjust settings to fit your system and how you want it to look. Characters are pretty impressive looking, personally I say check out the alternative models they have for most of the races, I like them better for many of the races. The landscape can look amazing and is very immersive, in my opinion it still looks better than alot of newer games on the market. They also will be releasing a new shader around the 1st of December that looks even more promising for the graphics. To sum up, there's a great game here that offers more depth than other mmorpg's on the market right now. I guess the success of WOW really overshadowed what this game has to offer and it's a shame.
