Good looking and performs well Firstly I didn't buy mine from Amazon, it is a refurbished piece(2G DDR3, 120 GB HDD) yet performs so right. There are a couple of reasons I chose this model, 1)the 11'6 inch; if you have worked on a 10' inch you would relish every centimeter added. (2) Keyboard - HP's keyboard is ergonomic and you can well touch type on the chiclet styled keyboards (3)The 2GB DDD3 & the Windows Premium go very well, you should not have moments of waiting for web pages to load. (4) The inbuild ION processor - renders HD well, just upgrade to the latest ION driver and Abobe 10.1 flash, & the ION takes up all your HULU and YouTube video's, leaving the Atom chiming at 40-50% usage. ( If you don't upgrade the CPU usage is 90%, but things still work fine, multi-tasking would suffer) (5)802.11 a/b/g/n all Standards supported and works well. When I do have a problem a manual change at the Wi-Fi settings like Channel mode, Compatibility Mode does the trick (6)Battery- the Six pack charges in 3-4 hours and plays 3-4 hours of HD content over to my big screen monitor, use it less will easily last for 6 hours. (7) Looks - this is one neat looking net book, fits the executive & college goer. Bad's? (1) Track-pad (2) Track-pad .... The thing is sadly designed a bit too wide, you would mostly happen to touch while typing & voila! your text's gone weirdo.. Awesome netbook! This was one of the first purchases I made when I decided to start my own business, and boy was it worth it. It's small enough that I'm able to take it to my customer's sites and not feel like I'm lugging around huge hardware. It's also powerful enough that I'm able to run my accounting software on it, therefore allowing me to send out estimates, invoices, etc. all on the road! This computer made such an impression on me that when my company decided to start selling computers, it's non-broadband having sibling was one of the first ones we offered. Great Netbook... Durability? Have carried around a Verizon network card for a couple of years that gave me access to the VZW 3G network on my 15 inch laptop. But the larger laptop is difficult to use in "coach." So, using my "new every two" year option, I upgraded to the Mini311. Have had it for about a month and find it to be an adequate substitute for my larger aging laptop that runs Windows XP. Windows7 is a vast improvement over Vista and allows me to skip that step entirely. Screen is bright and beautiful. The keyboard is a bit small and doesn't have the positive feel of my older (Dell) laptop, but it is, after all, a netbook. I, too, added a DVD player to the mix (available from HP or here on Amazon) to allow me to watch movies. It works very well for that. And when I'm not using it on the road my 5 y/o daughter can watch Tinkerbell. My only concern is the potential durability of a device that is obviously designed for travel and all that entails. On the other hand, for the price, it appears to be relatively well constructed and the fit and finish are excellent. I love my HP Mini Laptop! I just received the perfect gift for Christmas -- This little notebook computer that I can take with me everywhere! It is just the right size, with a near full-size keyboard and a screen that is large enough to view text documents and web pages without squinting. I tried the smaller 10 inch version, but felt that the keys were too close together. The screen also got too dark when running on battery power. This machine, however does not have those issues, making this version much more "finger" friendly, with a larger, brighter screen. I love my Mini and I recommend it to anyone who is interested in purchasing a portable machine with lots of power and ease of use. I also bought the external DVD burner which allows me to play CDs and movies and install programs. It's an Excellent addition that makes this little notebook computer as complete as its bigger cousins. 5 stars all the way!
