Not the proper connector.
Stay away from these sort of cables. They are standard mini USB cables. The HTC ones look like they are cut off on one side,*half mini usb) and go straight down, rather than at an angle. Don't be fooled by people that get them, and they sort of fit. They will cause problems in the long run. make sure to buy the proper ones. last thing you want is bent pins, or a connector where the contacts slide around possible causing shorts. USB Cable
Just a regular USB data cable. Nothing special about it. I was fooled by the "HTC" in the name and thought that the phone required a special data cable to fit the jack on the phone. It doesn't look like an ordinary data cable can fit the phone, but it can. All in all, it's great having an extra one to tote around just in case I should need to use it on the go. Rating: (A. i recently figured out that most HTC phones with the special 'modified mini usb' supports the use of regular mini usb cables, all you need to do is turn it upside down and plug it in. so far this particular item on amazon has the lowest shipped price i could find, under 5 bucks. most places charge u 15-39 dollars for a stupid HTC cable. i do recommend a usb extension cord because this data cable is only about 2 feet long. i wish i knew our phones accept any mini usb because so many people have mini usb chargers for their motorolas and other phones. i didnt need to pay for a car charger and extra travel charger, because i already had mini usb cables all over the place!! I should have read the existing reviews. This is not the proprietary HTC connector (ExtUSB), it is a mini-USB connector. Oh well, Amazon does have a good return policy. :) Rating: (J. S. Cable loose connection
As the other reviewers commented this was not the propietary HTC cable. That was not a concern as the standard mini usb also works with my htc phone, and I did not need any of the other functions the htc propietary cable added. My problem with this cable was that it has a loose connection where if I jiggle the cable at all I lose the connection to the PC. Poorly made cable not worth it.
