SlingCatcher I just moved to Germany and I'm using Slingbox with the SlingCatcher to watch my TV back in the USA. Before purchasing the SlingCatcher I was using my laptop hooked to my TV which was OK but it left a lot of room for improvement. Now, watching the same broadcast using the SlingCatcher is almost like being at home. You can connect it to your TV using standard RCA connections or by using the HDMI connection. There is a slight delay when sending commands (like changing channels) which is expected and the signal isn't HD quality but these two devices together make for an excellent TV viewing experience. When traveling I'd stick to watching Slingbox video on my PC rather than carrying an extra piece of equipment in my luggage but if you're going to be in one spot for an extended stay I would highly recommend the SlingCatcher as a companion to the Slingbox. No wireless capability? The main purpose of the product is to see video delivered from SlingBox to TV directly without a computer in between. Great idea, but how many people have wired Ethernet outlet close to TV set? Wireless has been the main stream of home network for years. I can't believe this product doesn't provide wireless connection function to your home network router. I don't want to run 20-foot long Ethernet cable through walls just for watching video on TV from SlingBox. It doesn't make sense to do so. Using a old laptop with wireless card would be a much better idea. The only bad thing is you can't sit on the sofa and control the laptop 10 feet away. My solution is to buy a good wireless key with mouse function, which will cost less than the SlingCatcher. SlingCatcher is universal Overall Happy with purchase. The slingcatcher allows me to pull cable tv to a remote tv. The cable picture is about VCR quality but acceptable. I pull my TV signal from a remote network so quality is lower. Local content on my internal network is DVD+ quality. Would recommend but recognize there are limitations. No WIFI built-in and sling projector does not support a Mac. Used a trendnet Wireless N travel router to allow wireless operations and VMWARE to allow sling projector. Pro: Expand use of SlingBox, play multiple formats locally, easy of use Cons: No WIFI and limited Mac support.
