Disappointed

NEGATIVE 5 STARS....Goodbye, Broderbund!!! I expected better from you guys. DON'T BUY IT!!!!!!
I wish I had not been so trusting as to think that they would simply upgrade Printmaster Platinum as they have done in previous years by using the same package coloring, layout and all as before! I'm not sure why they bothered to call it Printmaster as if it were a continuation of the Printmaster's prior to this. It's totally different which is what I take offense to because it is very misleading. It's a totally new product therefore it can't be "New and Improved" as implied. *Only the word "New" would be truthful as far as this is concerned. There should have been a HUGE disclaimer emblazened on the front packaging stating that none of your previous projects will be compatible with this new Printmaster Platinum so all of your work (if you upgraded to Windows 7) would not be accessible for updates! I find it irresponsible to imply that this was remotely like any of the previous products. I'm flexible enough (given all of the information is supplied to me, that is...) to work with a product that has been amended. I can even work with a totally new product if need be as long as I'm told it is a TOTALLY NEW PRODUCT. I really consider this a "bait & switch" just to get loyal customers' money. I now have 6 years of projects that I can't access or adjust on my Win 7 os. Additionally it's just plain crappy, faulty software. I have earnestly tried to work with this Platinum software and have continually received one of the longest error messages I've ever witnessed. So hours of work on 3 individual trial projects will not close out, print or save because of this mysterious error on each and every one of these projects. I'm now completely gun-shy when it comes to ANY Broderbund product because I don't know when or if they'll pull another one of these "upgrades" on me again. Now I'll just have to make sure my old hard drives with the older Windows OS is put into my hard drive enclosure so I can access and amend the old projects. Clumsy, hard to use, slowed me down
I got this hoping to do fun projects with my children. I am disappointed. It's not well designed. It's clumsy. We found ourselves spending too much time trying to figure out why things were designed a certain way instead of creating. We can't use any backgrounds except white with see through graphics, because the program puts white behind and won't let me edit it out. Takes up a ton of space on my computer. Not intuitively designed at all. It feels like this was rushed to market just to make an extra buck. It doesn't feel like it was thought out at ALL. Don't buy
I agree with the previous reviews...I was disappointed and voiced my complaints to Broderbund. After a couple of friendly emails Broderbund has agreed to exchange my P. 2.0 for the 18...I hope it meets my needs for creating a personalized greeting card like previous versions. I did find that importing pictures was easy and a nice feature and customer service was willing to accomodate and work with the customer. I'm hoping importing pics in 18 will be as easy. Could use a lot of improvement...
So, I've used a previous verion of PrintMaster and was not impressed with it at all, but I decided to try this new version anyway. Unfortunately, Platinum 2.0 is even worse than its predecessor. It takes up a huge amount of space on your computer, and the various templates are uninspired. You are required to store all of the artwork on your computer, and the variety of clipart leaves something to be desired because I don't like the pictures. I prefer Greeting Card Factory for making things like banners and cards on my computer. PrintMaster is not as intuitive to use, and I feel like I'm not able to be as creative with this product, which sort of defeats the purpose. Rating: (K.
