This is a great book. I bought this audio book to see what the hype was about. OMG.... what I have found out is, that if all politicians behave as this character (Edwards) behaves… We as a country are really in trouble. I find this book very readable and believable. Mrs. Edwards is a total control freak, and Mr. Edward is a total fruitloop. I hope that this family (Young’s) can get on with their lives and leave the trash at the curb. And the poor little baby, how sad that the whole world knows who this is and what a beginning she has had in life…. Pretty amazing Young tells a good story but I have a good feeling Elizabeths rebuttal book will set the record straight. I hope he makes enough money from this book to take care of his family. Good read though. An inside look at the slimey side of politics and human ambition. Andrew Young's revealing book about John and Elizabeth Edwards certainly paints a familiar but disappointing picture of a "supposed" leader and his wife. John Edwards was as phoney as a man could be, and the most amazing thing for me was that Young stayed with him for as long as he did. Obviously Young has his own set of value problems. But insofar as it exposes the real character of John Edwards and the false image he portrayed to America, the book has real value. For anyone interested in the real world of politics, it is a great read. I highly recommend it.
