Whatever your pop tastes may be, there’s no excuse for not having at least one Frank Sinatra album in your collection. And if you're only going to have one, Classic Sinatra is an excellent choice. Gleaned from his Capitol Records heyday, the collection captures Ol’ Blue Eyes at the height of his powers. Of course, he had been a singing phenomenon for a decade before cutting these tracks, but this is the archetypal Sinatra that fans point to when they hail his genius — his readings of “I Get a Kick Out of You,” “All the Way,” “The Lady is a Tramp,” “Come Fly With Me” and nearly all the rest of the numbers here are unassailable classics. More than anything, what’s documented during this period is Sinatra’s evolution into a mature interpreter of loss and loneliness. He fills ballads like “One For My Baby (And One More For the Road)” and “In the Wee Small Hours of the Morning” with a melancholy gravitas that remains unequalled. It could be argued that such ‘60s albums as September of My Years are nearly as important in the Sinatra canon, but for the purest distillation of Frank’s magic, this is the one to have.

Memorable From listening to many of Frank's songs, these truly are some of the most memorable, lively ones. Tracks like 'My Funny Valentine', 'The Lady Is a Tramp', 'I Get a Kick Out of You', 'It Happened in Monterey', and many more. Nothing tops this! Frank is a timeless wonder. I do a show tributing him and it is nothing but pleasure singing these great hits. This album is my favorite. I personally didn't care for the stuff he did in the sixties. In the 50's he became an American icon to which all other standards vocalist are matched. Even the younger ladies in the audiences today, smile when you sing Frank to them. Frank Sinatra "All The Way"! Frank Sinatra has a vocal quality that is nearly impossible to mimick, instantly making every one of his songs an amazing original. This album contains some of his best songs, with a great swing rythm and awesome lyrics. Frank's songs have lived on even though he didn't, and I imagine that with quality like this, they will be popular for a long time after this. Finally! I've heard his music all over- cartoons, commercials, et cetera- but have not found them until now. Trust me, I usually only listen to Rock, Pop, Reggae, and the likes, so Frank Sinatra's music is an oddball in my collection, but I still love listening to it. The smooth sounds are light yet bold, and overall carry a distinct sound to them you probably will NOT find in any other music. All in all- Excellent.
