Melatonin Magik [Explicit] - Canibus

First Time I Actually WANTED To Buy A CD In a Longtime... I relatively new on the Canibus scene, but I snap-bought this album as soon as I saw it was coming out... I'll save my analysis because we've all got our own perceptions and interpretations as we're entitled to, but this man's lyrics combined with the scope of his vocabulary spectrum really make for some remarkable lyrics! Not even through the album yet (half way), but I felt compelled to spread the word, and I don't do this often - this is probably my 3rd review!!!! First off, it seems like Canabis has cut his songs back a little and added a chorus in most of his songs, which I thought I read somewhere was the plan to gain a little more support - basically, giving the people what they want. Though, I wouldn't necessarily put myself in this group; I just want to hear Canabis be Canabis. Anyway, he's got a lot more material to "spit" about, rather than just raging in a lyrical battle with the rest of hip-hop and the corrupt mainstream. Lots of good political insights, imo. I find all of this to be what I really like most about Can-I-Bus. He's rational, logical, philosophical, political, independent, yet, patriotic, and seriously intelligent! Can-I-Bus!!!! These are my TOP THREE (so far although, I like them all), but these made my jaw drop and my brain freeze. I had to listen again and again: "Air Strike" - DEFINITELY "Drop[s] the Bomb on Em-inem" , and I have been trying to remain a fan despite his arabic accent and "[Total] Collapse." I've been looking for any song, verse, anything to give me hope he'll comeback sick... But after this track with Canabis and D12, I think his chances are pretty "Slim." Ranks third in my book This is a great album. It ranks just below Rip the Jacker and Mic Club, his best albums. His collaboration with true hip hop artists shows his dedication to save hip hop from the garbage that's on the radio. His flow is original and venomous like always, and his beats are second to Stoupe's brilliance on Rip the Jacker. Overall a great album. Here's my ranking of his albums: 1. Rip the Jacker 2. Canibus is trash rap it up bee... I used to like canibus but he needs to switch his stlye up or something...every track sounds the same, so monotone and blane...sounds like a nerd version of sticky fingas...lol...yea do yourself a favor and retire you bum... This album is not for the Clone Minded...
