Works okay for my needs. I have several iPods. I am using this unit with my 3GS iPhone and 2nd gen Touch. I have used it for a few days of snowmobiling. All I wanted was something for pause and play. The volume controls are okay, they do tend to go all or none, but I have so much noise and I have the sound check at a safe level so my ears don't get killed. The pause and play function has been outstanding. After 10 hours of riding in sub 10 degree weather and getting a lot of snow on the remote, it continued to work very well. On day three it started flaking a bit so I replaced the battery and it was working well again. A battery should last much longer in normal temp conditions. I did notice if the iPod is in sleep mode, you sometimes need to hit the play button or skip button twice. But I didn't think it was a big deal. It is very convenient not having to go in my coat and find the iPod to pause play so I can talk or hear a conversation. Overall it does the job and allows for wire free operation of the iPod. I have tried other wired inline remotes and frankly they work about the same as this unit. So for $15 why not go with this and enjoy not dealing with more wires? Ipod remote I bought the Ipod remote to use while riding my motorcycle. It works great and am really impressed. The only complaint I could think of is when I wear my heavy cold weather gloves, It is is hard to change tracks and raise or lower the volume. It works great with my lighter weight gloves. not so bad i ordered this one for my husband and it is not compatible with the ipod nano; you cannot plug in the remote sensor and headphones at the same time. the remote i ordered didn't work, so i inherited this one. i was none too happy because i've read terrible product reviews. however, in light of my low expectations, i find that it is not so bad. i primarily use it for snowboarding and it is a bit of a pain in the ass to use the buttons with gloves on because you have to press them hard. i followed the suggestions in other reviews and avoided using the wrist strap, and found it doubly hard to press the buttons through a pocket. i think it would be just fine for any other occasion though. i also recommend somehow attaching a key ring of some sort to the remote so it can be attached on the outside of your coat or pants when snowboarding. works 50 percent of the time I purchased this product from amazon.com. The problem I have is when you press the volume + button, it dosent just turn it up a little bit. It will max out the volume making you have to rip out the head phones from your ears to save what little hearing you have left. And it will do the same with volume - button. When this button is pressed the volume goes all the way down. I tried changing the battery with the same results. Also this product has about 16 inchs of range.
