mythology meets technology I liked the mythology of the game, some of it was alittle off but still fun and inventive. the game play was ok but at times it can get frustrating trying to figure out things. it does get points for being one of the few games only on PS3. Lots of fun for everyone (except the little tykes) If you're in the mood for some random violence (as I am at the moment after dealing with a new brand of idiots at work) this game is great. I had never played these games even though people have raved about them for years. Finally I broke down and bought this fantastic collection and I have to say - it's well worth the money. From the very beginning you're killing bad things (I assume they are bad things) and lots of them. You start out as pretty much a Bad A$$ and only get better from there. Now I'm not a highly skilled gamer, so when things require combos or tons of patience... they aren't the game for me. I want to hit a few buttons and for things to happen. I was thrilled with the on screen prompts that told me what to do to kill the bad guys. I spend all day at work figuring crap out - I want my games fairly simple. Now as to the story... it's no Bioware Title, but it does have a much stronger storyline then most "wander around and kill things" games. I did get a trophy right off for dying so many times it wanted me to lower the difficutly... but let me warn you, even lowering the difficulty doesnt make walking across those stupid boards any easier. There are little puzzles that require a bit of paying attention to figure out. But none of the ones I have come across have been tough enough for me to have to resort to the internet. Then again I haven't finished either game yet. In regards to the new and improved graphics - I haven't seen the old graphics but these worked fine for me. They weren't PS3 graphics, but they were pretty snazzy. For the price, getting both games is well worth it. Both are highly entertaining. The God of War God of War created a new standard when it was first released as to how far a videogame could go with story and shier violence. When God of War 2 was released, everything was taken to the next level, which garnered even more critical acclaim. When Sony decided to re-work the original two titles for release in HD on the PS3, I was immediately excited about the possibilities for the game. As the result of hard working individuals over at Bluepoint Studios, they were able to recreate the spectacle known as God of War and God of War 2 in HD (720p). Even though I have played the original games and at one point owned both games, This move by Sony was a very successful one, which has broaden the audience of gamers who were too young at the time to purchase, let alone play anything called God of War. Great Combo If you like God of war 1 and you liked God of War 2.... well thats what this is, but it's still insanely fun. As Kratos you travel through two epic jouneys of redemption and revenge. Tight gameplay and Crisp re-worked graphics make the expirence that much better this time around. If you're looking for that action game to hold you off unitil God of War III, pick this up!
