great product I bought these for my girlfriend, who basically works out of her car-- all day driving from place to place, and she absolutely loves them. They don't spill at all! And The Winner Is . . . . Having owned several top rated travel mugs over the years (Nissan, Trudeau, etc), I never was completely satisfied. The Nissan version I had used an inset screw top, which was difficult to use while driving and left open, allowed the coffee to cool off too quickly. The Trudeau worked well for a while but didn't hold the heat well since it isn't vacuum sealed, and eventually leaked (yes, I washed in the dishwasher on the top shelf despite the instructions to avoid). The Contigo fixed all of the previous issues I had experienced. It is stainless steel inside and out and vacuum sealed to keep hot drinks hot for a long time. The push button opening is intuitive and easy to use. It is slim, which allows it to fit in all cup holders and the lack of a handle is actually a plus in my experience. And despite washing in the dishwasher for a year, it never leaks and looks great. On a side note, Contigo also makes kids cups and they are my daughter's favorites. Rating: 5 (Jordan D. Best travel mug EVER! I had heard great things about the Contigo stainless steel travel mug in passing, don't really remember where. But it piqued my interest again when I saw a co-worker with one at work, so I decided to buy a pair for myself (it was cheaper that way and I can gift the second if I decide I don't need two). Its construction is stable and solid, love the look of brushed stainless steel on the body and the clean contemporary design. Its plastic cap is thoughtfully ringed with a grippy silicone ring bonded all the way around and continues into the inside edge where it provides the seal against the tumbler's edge. First time I used it I poured my coffee in, added creamer and sugar and found it was too deep for the plastic stirrer. No matter, because as soon as I had the lid tightly in place, I could shake to mix without worry of even a single drop leaking out! I don't pretend to know how the Autoseal works, other than some faint idea involving a myriad of mechanical levers and valves, but it does so perfectly and the thermal design keeps my coffee hot for hours. Not that my coffee's ever in there that long, but who knows, maybe I'll need that feature some day down the road -- cold likely works well as claimed, but I didn't test that out. Depressing the Autoseal button will sometimes release internal pressure and sounds almost akin to the hiss you get when you open a soda or beer bottle, just a lot less sound and fury. Funny that I feel more heat from my beverage in the cap than in the metal tumbler -- perfectly fine to touch and it only starts to feel slightly warm near the top where it tapers in. Only thing I might ask for is a silicone pad on the bottom so it doesn't clank quite so much when I put it down on a hard surface. Rating: 5 (A. K. Love these mugs! We received a set of these last Christmas, and love them. We bought a bunch for the rest of the family for this Christmas. Pros: -- The auto-seal is great! No more spilled coffee because you forgot to close it. -- The button is right hand/left hand ambidextrous -- The shape is good for small hands -- Keeps coffee hot for a few hours. Cons: -- It is very narrow, which makes it difficult to clean. -- The mechanism in the lid is a little difficult to clean. * We resolved both of these issues with a Munchkin baby bottle brush Munchkin Healthflow Bottle & Nipple Brush , 1 brush, and even included the brush in the gift with the mugs.
