AirClick is the remote control you've been missing. The Griffin AirClick for iPod, iPod mini and Nano lets you hook up your 'Pod to your sound system and wander through the house while in full control of your tunes. Pause your iPod to answer the door and then crank it up without even going in the room. The five button remote allows for play/pause, next track, previous track, and volume up and down.
The Griffin Technology 9502-CLK30 AirClick RF Remote Control with Dock Connector for iPod lets you hook up your iPod to your sound system and wander through the house while in full control of your tunes. With it, you can pause your iPod while you answer the door, then crank it back up without even going back in the room. The AirClick uses RF signals that travel through walls for control anywhere in your home or outside, up to 60 feet away from your iPod. The remote's five buttons control play/pause, next track, previous track, and volume up and down. A hold switch on the side of the AirClick prevents the accidental disturbance of your musical nirvana, while a clip equipped with Velcro straps enables convenient attachment to your arm, steering wheel, or bike frame.

A piece of garbage
I received this product, plugged in the base unit into my iPod, it blinked (indicating that it's detecting the iPod). Then tried to use the remote: nothing. I opened the remote to check the voltage on the battery, and it was just under 3V (still good). It even tried connecting the device on my wife's iPod (which is a different iPod model) with the same results. Conclusion: the remote appears deffective (or both parts, but who knows). This product is basically garbage (hence the very low price): don't buy it! maybe got a bad one?
it just didn't work at all. period. it sounded like it would be perfect; but alas, perhaps i was just unlucky and received a defunct one. if not, then the compatability specs are wrong. luckily the seller was fantastic and it was no problem to have my money refunded. It DOES work with iPod Classic
Since someone who reviewed this product stated that this doesn't work with iPod Classics, I felt compelled to correct his/her error. I ordered it for my iPod Classic and it works perfectly. Awesome
I understood the downfall of not being able to charge the ipod while using the airclick. I previously had one on an ipod mini that attached on the top, but really, once I adjusted to it being on the bottom, it was fine. I don't know what I'd do without the airclick! I've been using it steadily for at least 3 or 4 years, and it still works perfectly. It's on the bottom of my ipod 95% of the time, as I use it most in the car. It's durable, and a smart addition to anyone's ipod. I attached the remote control to my steering wheel, its a accessible spot to just change songs with my thumb. You can press play, fastforward/backward(or change to the previous/next song), control the volume. The basic controls. So it works best if you're a frequent user of "shuffle". Remote Function Good - Quality Not
I received this item very quickly. It broke just as quickly. The remote has a tab like a belt clip on the back. When I pressed to open, the hinge on the remote broke and the metal spring fell off. The plastic is too small to glue/repair. Unfortunately, this clip is needed to hold the remote in the cradle. I would be concerned the hinges would break while in the cradle. If not in a car (bicycle, motorcycle, etc), the remote would be lost. The receiver does not work if the iPod is in the hard plastic case. I do not own any other cases. As a remote, it works great.
