ijunk After reading all the glowing reviews of the ihome stereo, I first said ihome really? So I took a chance and bought one at Costco for $200. When I brought it home and plugged it in the speakers started to smoke! Before some wiseass says to plug it into a surge protector I did, I tried it with and without one. I returned the stereo to Costco easily and got another one, this time however, when I plugged it in it popped and no longer turned on. Returning this one, and I'm done. ihome is junk and worse can be dangerous. p.s. my one star is for all the people lucky enough to be happy with their ihome stereo. Don't listen to the hype This product is terrible. Especially the dps sound plugin. It is cheap and low quality and it sounds like you just cranked all the buttons on max. Plenty of distortion too. Sound is over rated and unbalanced This product has good reviews on the internet, and on that basis I bought it. The sound is unbalanced, with too much bass (even at the lowest setting) and not enough mid-range. Although the mp3 format isn't CD quality, mp3 plays and sounds much better on a decent stereo system than on this. The odd battery that runs the remote was said in the accompanying instructions to be included, but it wasn't and I had to drive to a store to buy one. It did set up easily according to the instructions, it does have the virtue of relatively small size, and it does charge the iPod and iPhone; but overall I am disappointed in the sound of the unit, would not recommend it, and wish I had not bought it. Wow sound Great sound for the size of the unit. Sounds like a much larger speaker. Some cuts do sound a bit off, but overall the sound is very good. Looks are killer great. Problem I have one thing to say. The right tweet is broken. I didn't realize this but then i decided to play a soft song at a low volume and as i was setting up my ipod i realized that the right tweet was fuzzy. i mean i didn't realize this at first cuz the thing is so loud and massive at first but after playing that first soft song i realized there was a problem with the tweeter. it is fuzzy and when no music is playing you can hear a little like ringing sound. I mean when the music is playing loud it obviously has no problem because the fuzzyness is overpowered but at a very low volume it interferes with sound quality.
