Nightmare
DO NOT PURCHASE THIS PRODUCT. I wish I had read all these review before purchasing. I had been using Quickbooks Pro 2007 for the mac for 3 years, without much problem. It certainly wasn't fancy but it kept reliable accounting books. After one day of using Quickbooks 2010 for the mac my data became corrupted. I sent my data to data services, but when I uploaded my "fixed" data it was still corrupted. The "Amount Due" for several of my customers is inconsistent between the payment window, customer center window and accounts receivable reports and it varies, in each case, which location has the correct data. Additionally there is a bug that keeps deleting my prior credit card payments. If I view the prior payment to make a change (i.e. change the date or the account the payment is being deposited to) and then click OK, it takes me to the credit card processing screen again. I do not want to process the credit card again so I cancel out and then the payment is deleted from Quickbooks! Customer service, tech support and data services have been a nightmare. Every time I have a phone conversation with someone there, I need to start over from the very beginning. There is no continuity on the case and the conclusions of the conversations are always some future promise that has yet to be kept but which gets them off the hook for the time being. This issue was first reported to tech support on June 28, 2010 and via email to data services on June 30, 2010. Since then I have been unable to have direct contact with the person working on my case. I have had very little to no assurance or proof that someone is actually working on my case. I have no estimate on the time it will take to fix this bug and the resulting data discrepancies. Tech Support and Customer Service appear to be my only direct possible contact with Intuit and they cannot provide anything more than scripted generalized responses and apologies that do not reflect any understanding of the software or my problem with the software. After 4 weeks, 3 detailed emails (with screen shots) explaining my problem, 3 follow-up emails, 7 phone calls speaking to at least 14 different tech support and data services staff, all I get when they finally call me back is "Can you please tell me what the problem is?" If I didn't know that this was a legitimate company I would think by now that the whole thing was a scam/front. Clearly this version of Quickbooks does not maintain reliable accounting records. This has and will cost my business significant time and money in order to address the issues at hand. We had been happily using an old version of Quickbooks for 3 years. We also were happily using their Billing Manager software to process credit cards with our Intuit Merchant Services account. Because of the poor quality of Quickbooks 2010 and its support staff and services we will be discontinuing all business with Intuit once our accounts and data have been converted. Any suggestions for mac or web-based accounting software are welcome. Right now I am thinking about converting to Acclivity AccountEdge and paying a consulting service to convert my data. Anything but Mac friendly
I am so frustrated with QB. I bought both 2009 and 2010 for Mac. 2009 wouldn't sync with my CPA's PC version. Now I'm having the same issue with 2010. In fact, I've NEVER been able to sync between the 2 platforms....EVER! QB for Mac is ANYTHING but Mac friendly. It's a complete and utter joke with 7 updates in 7 months. STOP it already! Oh, btw, with each new update it breaks compatibility with a PC. It's a game of continually updating each side and then figuring out which version you used last because none of the other versions talk to each other. It's a ridiculous program with horrible functionality. Stay away from this program until Intuit figures out what in the heck they are doing on a Mac. Rating: (C. easy to buy - great service
ordered in mid morning while sitting at my office desk in california and delivered the next day (less than 24 hours) for a minimal charge. I was surprised at how fast they could process and deliver the order and at a very competitive price. This is about the third sofware product I purchased through Amazon this summer for my new Macbook Pro and I will continue to do so. Everything was easy from signing on to the site, ordering, tracking and having the product delivered. Easier than driving down the street to purchase. tc.
