HP Photosmart Premium Fax All-in-One Inkjet Printer (CC335A#ABA) $367.00

I'm confused I'm looking at the HP CC335A and most of the reviews are for the HP 309A...What's the scoop? They are two different machines. Please, can somebody explain why??? I gave it one star only so I could get this on line. I don't own one yet, but the CC335A is highly recommended by Cnet. INK Usage - printer review I have had this printer for six months and after 211 page of normal text no photos; I just had to replace all the ink cartridges for third time (Photo Black, Black, Cyan, Magenta and Yellow) about $ 75.00. Up to this point have paid for a new printer and more for the ink - I am going back to my old EPSON Photo R300 which is more economical to operate and offers best print quality. Note that I called HP help and got an operator in East Asia, very polite and nice to speak with, however told me try the printer with your new ink, if you have any issue then give us a call back! (No answer as why this machine spend so much ink) I called back an talk to another person and insisted to speak with a supervisor - I did and she told me a case manager will call to discuss my problems with this printer - I am still waiting for the call! Recommendation: DO NOT PURCHASE this printer - older HP photo smart performed way better. These newer models are a trap to get you spends money on very expensive INK. Rating: 1 (F. This thing is a nightmare! I bought this printer because it combined several functions necessary for my home business. The features would be great, if I could get the printer to work for more than one day at a time. It initially took me three days on the phone with HP Tech Support just to get the software installed (on a new HP desktop running Vista). I'm not exaggerating - it was technician #8 who finally got it running. Then the machine decided it would only scan duplex, through the feeder. Another hour with tech support, and I learned the reset process. (Unplug power; hold down keys # and 3; while holding keys down, reinsert power plug. It helps to have long arms or an assistant!) Resetting it worked fine the first time. But the next time I turned my computer off, the printer decided it was disconnected. And needed a reset. Only now, it insists on initializing after the reset, using up the expensive colored ink. And it disconnects EVERY SINGLE TIME I TURN MY COMPUTER OFF. In any case, I can tell the machine won't last long. It sounds like it's tearing itself apart with every function. I hope I haven't waited too long to return it to Amazon. Things seemed just encouraging enough to keep me trying, but new problems arise constantly. I have so much work I need to do, and this piece of junk has wasted so much of my time! Excellent printer and easy to use. Don't be fooled by the low price of this printer, it is a professional quality unit. It was simple to setup and install (unpack it carefully though - there is blue packing tape all over it to keep it in one piece). This replaced an older HP all in one, and the software and features have gotten even better. It comes with full cartridges - I do alot of printing and I've only had to replace the black cartridge so far. I've used almost every feature, and haven't found a problem yet. Print quality will amaze you! Do yourself a favor and buy high quality supplies (I use HP print products - paper, inks, etc) and you won't be disappointed. My family is absolutely floored at how well pictures print on glossy paper! They are truly borderless, and look like they came from a photo lab. I haven't calculated how many photos you can get from the cartridges, but it doesn't seem to empty the inks to print a photo (like some printers I've owned). They also dry quickly and handle well. The wireless is fantastic, and simple to use. We can finally print from the wireless computers in the house, although I only installed the drivers on them, instead of the entire software package. We keep one computer wired directly to the modem, wireless router, and printer, so it's always challenging to set up our network (wired and wireless). The bluetooth is handy and fun! There is nothing like sending a picture from your camera phone to the printer - it's almost too easy, and addicting! Now I don't have to move the picture to a memory card, insert it into an adapter, and then plug it into the printer (although I could do that if I needed to for some reason). Double sided automatic printing! They finally did it, and it's awesome! For some reason, I've always been one of those people who can never remember which direction the paper is going - and this takes care of it. As simple as it sounds, I've screwed up so many print jobs over the years just by flipping the paper the wrong direction, or printing the pages out of order. Although I have yet to try to double side a large print job, there is no doubt this printer could handle it in style. Other features: the included software includes an option to scan to pdf file, and I'm glad to finally have this format to use. It's selected right off the screen on the printer. The separate photo paper tray is handy, and you don't have to switch the paper out to print a picture anymore. Both trays hold a good amount of paper for a compact unit (if you need more you might need a higher volume printer). While the document feeder doesn't always get the image exactly square, it's good enough at this price point and has yet to really screw something up. I also haven't printed a CD/DVD disc yet - one of these days that may come in handy, and is a nice added feature (you have to buy printable discs). *Phew* This turned out to be a long review, let me just say this - fantastic printer, and I highly recommend it!
